A Village with History
#

Robledo has deep roots in history. During the Middle Ages, it was integrated into the Kingdom of León and played an important role in the repopulation of the area. In the Modern Age, it was part of the province of the Lands of the Count of Benavente, and finally became part of the province of Zamora in 1833.

A Glimpse into the Past
#

The church of San Bartolomé houses a portico with Romanesque capitals, representing the only medieval remains of the temple. These capitals, carved in limestone, are decorated with plant motifs and are a testament to the historical past of Robledo.

The Center of the Iberian Wolf
#

Robledo is home to the Iberian Wolf Center of Castile and León, an infrastructure created in 2015 with the aim of spreading awareness about the importance of the wolf in the biodiversity of the Iberian Peninsula. The center promotes tourism and rural development in the area, making it a strategic place for the conservation of this species.

Singular Architecture
#

The architecture of Robledo is characterized by the use of slate in its walls, a distinctive feature shared with other areas of Spain and known as “Black Architecture”. The parish church of San Bartolomé, located in an open field about 150 meters south of the village, is an example of this style, although it is a modern construction from the 17th century.
